For Alice’s senior photo shoot we headed over to a nearby park to capture that sweet, beautiful smile of hers. Alice is attending Florida International University in Miami on a swimming scholarship and swam all four years for Dr. Phillips High School. Cody was along for her photo shoot so he joined her in a few of the pictures for some very special memories. We had a great time and she is, by far, the sweetest girl to know…so…here she is…

Emily is my niece. She was in town. She is beautiful. So we took pictures…

We’ve known the Tribou family since the very first day we moved here to Orlando and enjoy, on a regular basis, the best sub sandwich ever at their restaurant Larkins Famous Subs (located off of McCoy Road on Daetwyler-if you care to venture this way to have an absolutely amazing sub sandwich.) So when it came time for Joe’s senior photo shoot what better place than right in our neighborhood, Belle Isle and then in their backyard-right on the lake. And now Joe (along with Cody) will be headed off to Florida State University this fall. Joe has informed me that they will be partying studying a lot! I look forward to hearing about their adventures but for now here is Joe:

The wait is over…Rootberry exclusive t-shirts are now available through District Lines! And my niece Emily served as the official model…

My Own | Family Photographer

February 10, 2011

The plan was for the entire Root family to go to Texas for Christmas but that did not work out-Jonathan got a last minute cruise ship gig and had to miss our trip to Texas (sad face). We wanted to have the entire family together for a Christmas Eve family photo shoot so…we were minus one but, as always, he was there in spirit and we all missed him. My Mom and Dad live in Frisco, Texas which is north of Dallas. Cody and I flew into Dallas and we all drove down to Richmond, Texas (right outside of Houston) to my sister’s house for the holiday. My sister Shelley and her husband James have four children-my niece Emily and my nephews James, Aaron and Daniel. It meant so much to me to spend Christmas with my family all together and I hope to share that soon as well. This is my family whom I love with all I am.

I am very excited to be making a trip in April to Texas to shoot the beautiful wedding of Angela and Brian so it worked out great that I was in Texas over the holidays and had the opportunity to do their engagment shoot. We actually started out at a park in Frisco that has some great Texas architecture (you know…bronze longhorns coming out of a wall!) We then headed over to downtown McKinney for the final shots. Angela and Brian have a fun love story that began with a “wink”…here is the continuation of that story…

During my Christmas trip to Texas to spend the holidays with my family I was fortunate enough to be able to fit in a few photo shoots and even more fortunate to get to meet the Hulsey family. So we headed on over to Frisco Square in the great city of Frisco-it was pretty chilly but did not seem to bother them one bit. I could tell in just the short time I spent with them that they are a close, loving and fun family-the family you want to go hang out with on a Friday night. And here they are…

Sweet Paula. This is how we commonly refer to my cousin and if you know her or ever get the opportunity to meet her you will understand why. During my trip to California I wanted to make sure we fit in a photo shoot for Paula. When Paula’s brother, Bobby, came to Orlando we did a little mini session so now it was Paula’s turn. My Aunt Patty hopped into a few of the shots for some special mother/daughter time. It was cold…it was windy…and here is what I got…

And a bonus friend shot…

Top 10 of the year ’10

December 31, 2010

It was harder than I thought…picking a top 10…so I picked 13. It’s my very favorite number anyways. A huge thank you to all of my 2010 clients and friends for making this such a fabulous year. I am looking forward to an amazing 2011!

My top “13″ images of the year ’10 are those in which you can sense the emotion and feeling by only using the sense of sight. I felt that in these…
