My son began his life at Florida State University as a college student this week (my thoughts on that are here) so I thought it was the perfect time to share his high school senior photo shoot pictures. This was an extremely special photo shoot to me-my very own son’s senior pictures-something we got to share together. We had a great time walking around downtown Orlando, and of course Cody had three outfit changes! Capturing all sides and all aspects of Cody’s personality was important to me. He is sweet but also has a cocky side (some call this sarcastic!) He is smart, insightful, witty and funny. He is opinionated yet easy going. He sees the world globally and understands and practices tolerance. He has a creative side but likes order and processes. He is loyal and loving and honest. He treasures tradition and family. He loves sports, GQ, movies, Xbox, designer clothes, roller coasters, cars, his Honda Ruckus… and right now Mila Kunis and Emma Watson! He is above all the most wonderful son I could have ever asked for and I could not be more proud.

For Alice’s senior photo shoot we headed over to a nearby park to capture that sweet, beautiful smile of hers. Alice is attending Florida International University in Miami on a swimming scholarship and swam all four years for Dr. Phillips High School. Cody was along for her photo shoot so he joined her in a few of the pictures for some very special memories. We had a great time and she is, by far, the sweetest girl to know…so…here she is…

We’ve known the Tribou family since the very first day we moved here to Orlando and enjoy, on a regular basis, the best sub sandwich ever at their restaurant Larkins Famous Subs (located off of McCoy Road on Daetwyler-if you care to venture this way to have an absolutely amazing sub sandwich.) So when it came time for Joe’s senior photo shoot what better place than right in our neighborhood, Belle Isle and then in their backyard-right on the lake. And now Joe (along with Cody) will be headed off to Florida State University this fall. Joe has informed me that they will be partying studying a lot! I look forward to hearing about their adventures but for now here is Joe:

A Teenager and His Car

May 20, 2010

A vehicle is obviously a mode to get us physically where we need to go. But to a teenager it is so much more than that when they finally have their first set of wheels. Cody was very anxious to get his new Volkswagen GTI all cleaned up and ready for pictures. He has a sense of pride and responsibility and unfortunately his car has been at the Volkswagen dealership for the past week and a half waiting on some nationally backordered parts so hopefully this will cheer him up a little. What a great idea for a senior photo shoot!
