Traveling Tuesdays: with the Roots has been a fun series of posts for me for the past several months. I love looking back at all of the adventures we have had the opportunity to go on and all of the fabulous places we have visited. I have more traveling fun to share but I thought it was time to take a little hiatus and introduce a new special series post that I have been wanting to start for some time. So for now…

My new blog post series will begin this Saturday as I share with you my thoughts on things, ideas and other randomness. I look forward to hearing your comments. Introducing “The Saturday Review”:

I am partly Dutch (so I’ve been told). I actually feel that heritage in my bones (sounds strange I know, but I do!) So I long to go to Holland (the Netherlands.) I want to see the windmills, go to the flower market and ride my bike around Amsterdam with my family.

On this day five years ago Jonathan and I made a little trip to Las Vegas, got in a helicopter, flew over the strip and got married.

Back in 2006 the Roots took a little trip to North Carolina to visit Jonathan’s aunt and uncle. We were so close to the South Carolina border we couldn’t resist…

Ok so this Traveling Tuesday is a little bit different-we were actually minus one Root (Jonathan, who was working on a cruise ship doing his own traveling) and we were plus two Cooks (my parents visiting from Texas) and one Flores (my friend Sandra visiting from Texas also!) We all decided to take a very short road trip and go check out the town of Celebration. As long as I have lived in Florida I had still not made it to Celebration and after visiting I cannot believe it took me so long. What a beautiful location for a photo shoot-I can’t wait to do one there. We decided to snap a few shots of ourselves while we walked around this little storybook city…

Another dream travel location for the Roots is most definitely Norway! My Grandma Cook is 1/2 Norwegian (or something like that) so that makes me somewhat close to 1/8th Norwegian (or something like that) so I think that is good enough reason to go to Norway, don’t you?

My next dream travel location will be another country of my heritage…

It has been exciting to be able to share our travels every Tuesday and every Tuesday I realize I have been very fortunate to be able to go to all of the places I have been. I have to keep reminding myself of that when I get bummed out that I haven’t been anywhere since last August! Then I look at all of the pictures of all of the places and all is ok. One of those places that we have been to several times is Key West. We’ve never driven there (I think it’s an 8 hour drive from Orlando) but we have been there on numerous times by ship. To me Key West is storybook quaint and peaceful (I’m sure some Spring Breakers might disagree) but that is what it is to me. This is one of our trips a few years ago with a stop in storybook Key West…

Oh my goodness…I can’t believe it has been a week since I have posted something on my blog. I have several posts that are in the works but then I realized it was already Tuesday again. So for this Traveling Tuesday I decided to finally highlight a place we have been to several times during our cruises-Cozumel, Mexico. We really like Cozumel and every time we have been there we have done something slightly different. On this particular trip to Cozumel we decided to rent a car and take a ride around the island. As is typical of us we ended up on the more “uninhabited” side of the island and decided to stop and spend a little bit of time on the beach at this little food joint we found on the side of the road. We played on the hammock, looked for sea shells and had some great authentic mexican food. After our time at the beach we headed back to the ship and decided we still had enough time to grab our snorkel gear and do a little snorkeling-you know we just kinda jumped in the water off the side of the road, not too far from the ship and swam around a little bit. That’s kinda how we do it and we like it. Here are a few shots of our day at the beach and us getting back on the ship after our little swim. It was a good day in Cozumel…

Every now and then I am going to dedicate a Traveling Tuesdays post to a future dream travel location for the Roots. A place that is definitely in one of my top five locations…Santorini, Greece…and can you blame me!

An underwater adventure in Belize with a disposable underwater camera to a remote island called Rendevous Caye on a power snorkeling excursion…yep, that’s how we Roots do it. So here’s Cody, Jonathan and I…
